Grace Bentleigh Baca was born on April 2, 2012, to Megan and Jared Baca. She was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, friend and dancer. Known for her infectious giggle, loving heart, and talented dancing ability, Grace was the light of our lives and loved by so many. She aspired to be a first-grade teacher when she grew up, matching perfectly with her passion for helping others. Gracie spent the majority of her free time training in the art of dance. She traveled throughout the state of Colorado, as well as to other states, competing in all styles of dance such as jazz, tap, contemporary, ballroom, hip hop, and ballet. She also loved her two brothers (Cole and Cai), spending time with friends, the color pink, spaghetti, and elephants, creating TikTok's, and playing classroom when she wasn’t dancing.
On Oct. 8, 2022, Gracie was riding in a car with her mother, oldest brother, and best friend in Commerce City. While at a stoplight just a few blocks from her home, a previously convicted felon slammed into their car at a high rate of speed sending Grace into a coma. Gracie was sent to Denver Health via Flight for Life, where she courageously fought for five weeks, battling life-threatening head injuries including several skull fractures and brain damage. On Nov. 11, 2022, Gracie, passed away due to the Traumatic Brain Injury she sustained as a result of the accident.
Gracie is deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. It is the Baca family's mission to continue Grace's legacy through her passion by providing scholarships to dancers as well as to survivors of Traumatic Brain Injuries.
